Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the veterinary sector
- Present and sell a range of premium products/services to existing and prospective customers
- Conduct visits to veterinary practices for product promotion, education, and sales
- Perform needs analysis to meet customer requirements
- Manage and develop existing key accounts while identifying and cultivating new ones
- Utilise cold calling and lead follow-up to reach potential customers
- Provide educational support through demonstrations, training, presentations, and CPD events
- Achieve sales targets and outcomes within set schedules
- Represent the company at conferences and exhibitions
Requirements:
- Veterinary nurse qualification or equivalent
- Proven track record in veterinary sales (desirable)
- Excellent selling, communication, and negotiation skills
- Knowledge in areas such as Anaesthesia, Dental, Electrosurgery, Monitoring, Ultrasound, and X-Ray (desirable)
- Willingness to improve through feedback
Personal Attributes/Characteristics:
- Professional presentation and excellent communication skills
- Demonstrable interpersonal skills to build solid relationships
- Commercially aware with knowledge of sales and marketing techniques
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
- Customer-focused with attention to detail
- Highly personable with a desire to understand the business and customers
Additional Information:
- Territory Area: North
- Normal working hours: 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm)
- Flexibility required for travel, occasional evening and weekend work
- Monthly team meetings, weekly catch-ups, and regular reporting
- Extensive travel is involved; overnight stays may be necessary
- Training provided for continuous development
- Generous holiday allowance
- Salary: £26,000-27,000 basic per annum, plus commission (uncapped)
