Using a blend of taught material and case-based problem solving, the aetiology, diagnosis and management options for a wide range endocrine cases seen in first-opinion practice are presented in this one-day course. Lectures and case discussions are used to bring you up-to-date with the cutting edge of diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, acromegaly, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, insulinoma, hyperadrenocorticism, hypoadrenocorticism and diabetes insipidus.
Learning Outcomes:
Apply a logical and systematic approach to the diagnosis and management of diabetes mellitus in dogs and cats, hyper- and hypoadrenocorticism in dogs, hyperthyroidism in the cat and hypothyroidism in the dog.
Develop an evidence-based and practical approach to the management of diabetic ketoacidosis
Review current concepts in the diagnosis of less-commonly encountered endocrinopathies, such as diabetes insipidus, insulinoma and acromegaly, and their management options.

This workshop is suitable for vets in first opinion practice or those studying for an RCVS CertAVP in small animal medicine.
