This highly interactive course will help build confidence in all the key areas of clinical practice, designed specifically for nurses who have taken time out of the profession or those in practice who are looking to refresh their knowledge and reignite their enthusiasm whether for themselves or in preparation for a clinical coach role. The two-day course will consist of both theory and small group hands-on practical sessions, and will provide a recap on a variety of essential topics in small animal practice.””
Topics to be covered include;
General Anaesthetic Principles and Emergency Scenarios: including hands-on practical sessions in circuit choice and calculations
Emergency and Critical Care: how to triage and treat, medication choices and a practical CPR session
Fluid Therapy: fluid losses and assessing dehydration, types of fluids and calculating bolus rates
Key Practical Nursing Skills: hands-on sessions in bandaging, management of feeding tubes and urinary catheter, blood sampling and more!
Radiography: recapping of anatomical planes, settings and positioning for a range of common x-rays
Medical Nursing: managing the hospitalised patient, their environment, nutrition, pain and behaviour with practical elements to include massage and physiotherapy.
