About The Role
Our client is an independent practice that is seeking an RVN to join their well-established group of surgeries.
About The Practice
They are a long standing independent small animal practice in the heart of their community. Their strapline sums up the ethos of the clinic; “Modern Healthcare, Traditional Values”. They offer the highest level of patient care combined with good, old-fashioned customer care.
Facilities
They have a main surgery, 3 satellite branches and they have just opened a new purpose-built hospital. They currently have 18 vets, nine RVNs and 6 trainee nurses (all at various stages of training).
Training/Support
They have demonstrated their commitment to and experience of supporting nurse certificates. Currently, one nurse has completed her NCert(ECC) last year, one has completed her exotics certificate. Two nurses have started their certificates in advanced nursing (CertAVN) last Autumn.
Caseload
They have a busy and varied caseload with opportunities to be involved in advanced nursing care and building nurse clinics. Any particular interests of nurses are actively encouraged and supported.
The Rota
This role is open to both full time or part time applicants, the full time position would be 40 hours per week worked over 5 days. They also work 1 in 10 night shift to cover their OOH. Out-of-hours shifts involve assisting the on-call vet for emergencies up to 1900 then staying on site overnight in comfortable flat and nursing in-patients as required. 2200 checks performed by nurse and vet and any overnight checks completed by nurse are paid accordingly and decided by the nurse and vet at 2200 checks. Substantial bonus paid for this shift, per nights and additional pays per overnight checks. Weekend rota currently one in nine for full weekend plus one in six Saturday mornings (approx.). Combination of time off in lieu and overtime pay for these shifts. Paid ½ day on Monday following full weekend worked.
