Exciting RVN Maternity Cover Opportunity - SW London

Position: Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)

Location: SW London

Duration: Starting mid-July 2024, for 6 months with potential extension

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) seeking a dynamic role in SW London? 

We're recruiting on behalf of an independent, small animal practice for a maternity cover position starting mid-July 2024.

Key Details:
Initial Term: 6 months, with potential for extension.
Application Deadline: Apply early to arrange interviews and meet the team.

Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday: 9am – 6pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break).
One Saturday shift per month: 9am – 1:30pm (time in lieu or extra pay).
Flexible hours available if less than 40 hours per week is preferred.

Role and Responsibilities:
Primarily surgery/medical nursing with some nurse consultations.

Ideal Candidate:
UK Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) preferred, but other qualified veterinary nurses with plans to sit their OSCEs are welcome.
Minimum one year of paid work experience preferred.

Salary: £30,000 for 40 hours per week (negotiable based on experience). Newly qualified nurses will have a starting salary adjusted based on experience.

Benefits:
10 days annual leave for a 6-month term (pro rata), plus bank holidays and CPD allowance.

20 days annual leave per year if the position extends beyond 6 months.
About the Practice:

Independent small animal practice in SW London.

Friendly, hardworking team: 3 vets, 3 RVNs (you would cover the third RVN), 1 SQP, and 3 VCAs.

Fully equipped with MiLab blood machines, IV fluid pumps, digital and dental radiographs, and ultrasound.

Experience with exotics (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets) is not essential.

Typical Day:
One vet consults all day, another handles a mix of consults and surgery.
Three to four procedures/surgeries are booked daily.

Two RVNs manage surgery and medical patients, supported by staff covering reception and office duties.
