My client is seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their esteemed independent RCVS accredited small animal hospital in South Wales. They are happy to support newly qualified RVNs in transitioning smoothly into their new role.

In this position, you will become part of a dynamic team composed of over 20 qualified and trainee nurses. Many of the team members hold further qualifications and have specialised interests in areas such as anaesthesia, exotics, feline medicine, and behaviour. My client is committed to supporting and funding your continued professional development in your areas of interest.

The hospital offers a comprehensive clinical service, which includes referral-level orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, services for exotic animals, and an in-house inpatient and emergency service. Your role will be varied and engaging, encompassing the management of inpatients, anaesthesia monitoring, assisting in surgical and diagnostic procedures, consulting in nurse clinics, dispensing medications, triaging patients, and advising clients.

My client believes in providing out-of-hours (OOH) care to their own clients to ensure the highest level of clinical care and job satisfaction. This role includes participation in the OOH rota, covering weekends, bank holidays, and nights. These are working shifts, and recovery time is provided. Prospective candidates are welcome to view an example rota.

Nurses at this hospital are integral to the team, encouraged to utilise their skills fully. The holistic approach to patient care values nursing expertise highly. Nurses actively participate in clinical governance and help shape the direction of the practice. For those with a high level of clinical and behavioural standards, there are internal development opportunities available through a senior RVN role, assisting in team leadership with a salary of £35,650.

Additional benefits include 28 days of holiday with the option to purchase an extra week, discounts for Nuffield Health, access to health services, and paid overtime, which is rare due to a shift system that ensures you can leave on time.

This is an exciting opportunity for an RVN to thrive in a supportive and forward-thinking environment. If you are passionate about veterinary care and eager to develop your career, my client would love to hear from you.
