Are you an experienced and driven Veterinary professional looking to take on a leadership role in a dynamic and supportive environment? Our client is seeking a dedicated Nurse Manager to join their team and ensure the highest standards of care and efficiency in their Veterinary Hospital.

Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Morning Rounds: Conduct morning rounds with the Head Nurse to review standards, identify improvements, and address any issues from the previous day involving the nursing team and reception. Manage shift changes as necessary.

Daily and Weekly Oversight: Monitor and support the veterinary team throughout the day and week, ensuring adherence to the operations list and running efficiently. Work closely with the Head Nurse to achieve this.

Meetings and Communication: Hold monthly nurse meetings, document notes, and send them to the Hospital Manager and Operations Director. Participate in Reception Meetings to bridge the gap between the service and clinical teams.

Overtime and Financial Management: Manage overtime submissions for the nursing team and advise HR on overtime and sickness by the 10th of each month.

KPI Management: Track and manage KPIs for patient histories, operations per day, new client registrations, and other performance metrics.

Ward Rounds and Treatment Plans: Participate in ward rounds to observe treatment plans and provide feedback on care and any issues arising from day to night shifts.

NPS and Health & Safety: Monitor Net Promoter Score (NPS) and implement improvements related to clinical issues. Oversee health and safety practices within the hospital.

Staff Reviews and Recruitment: Conduct nurse team reviews with the Head Nurse. Assist in nurse recruitment and participate in interviews. Manage probation reviews and ensure sufficient training in general anaesthesia (GA) and other clinical areas.

Rota Management: Ensure day and night rotas align with RX diary and support the Head Nurse and Hospital Manager in enforcing the on-call rota.

Referral Bookings: Oversee referral bookings to ensure accurate scheduling of procedures.

Staff Training and Expectations: Maintain and communicate staff expectations to the support team, ensuring all staff receive necessary training.

Sickness and Punctuality Monitoring: Monitor sickness and punctuality, reporting to HR for return-to-work advice. Support team in holding investigations and disciplinaries with the Hospital Manager and Head Nurse.

On-Call Manager Responsibilities: Oversee support expectations for the Night Team with the Hospital Manager.

Pricing and Competitive Practices: Ensure pricing adherence and perform spot checks to maintain competitiveness and prevent undercharging.

Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement practices for continuous improvement.

Reporting: Provide regular reports to Directors on hospital challenges, wins, areas of concern, complaints, recruitment, reviews, and necessary feedback.
