Are you a passionate and experienced RVN with a keen interest in dentistry and/or anaesthesia? We are ideally looking for a dedicated Dental Nurse to join our clients large, multi-disciplinary team in a busy 24-hour hospital and emergency service clinic.
As a Dental / Anaesthetic Nurse, you will play a key role in providing anaesthetic support for a variety of surgeries, procedures, and dental treatments. Your primary focus will be dentistry, supporting a Postgraduate Certificate Veterinary Surgeon in Dentistry with first-opinion, preventative, and referral procedures.
This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who wants to take ownership of the IM3 purpose-built Dental Suite, run dental clinics, and help expand the dentistry services offered.
Key Responsibilities:
🦷 Dental Nursing: Assist with first-opinion and referral dental procedures, including Schedule 3 tasks.
📷 Radiography: Perform full-mouth dental radiographs (essential).
🦷 Advanced Dentistry Knowledge: Understanding of procedures such as interdental wiring, temporary crown extensions, and incline planes (beneficial but not essential).
🩺 Anaesthesia: Provide anaesthetic support for surgeries and dental procedures.
📋 Clinic Management: Oversee the dental suite, ensuring equipment maintenance and restocking.
👩⚕️ Client Education: Run nurse-led dental clinics, including post-op rechecks and general oral health checks.
📅 Referral & Diary Management: Manage internal/external referrals, coordinate the dentistry diary, and handle client estimates.
📚 Training & CPD: Organise in-house training and CPD for the wider team on dental care and equipment maintenance.
What We’re Looking For:
✔ Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with experience in dentistry and anaesthesia.
✔ Passion for dentistry and client education.
✔ Ideally, a nursing certificate in dentistry (or working towards one).
✔ Ability to perform full-mouth dental radiographs.
✔ Enthusiasm for developing and expanding the dentistry service.
