VetPro Recruitment is recruiting for a Locum Meat Hygiene Inspector/ Veterinary Official Auxillary in on behalf of Food Standards Scotland (FSS).
The Meat Hygiene Inspector (MHI) role is one of the key front-line operational roles within the FSS. These staff deliver Official Controls (OC) in approved premises across Scotland, ensuring that meat produced is safe for human consumption.
The core work for the Meat Hygiene Inspector is the delivery of Official Controls for inspection, regulation and enforcement services related to meat production in Red and White meat slaughterhouses and Game handling establishments (GHE’s) within Scotland.
This role is based in a slaughter house in Angus and they are specifically looking for a locum who has experience working on high speed pig lines.
Shift times vary but normally starting at 7.45am and latest finish 4pm working approximately 40 hours per week.
FSS are ideally looking for a locum who can start on or as close as possible to 28/04/25 and the role will be for 4 months from the start date.
As well as a drivers license and own vehicle, applicants must hold the RSPH Level 4 Diploma in Meat Inspection.
Daily rate is negotiable on application and there is also an allowance towards accommodation.
