JR is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our client’s fantastic team! This role is ideal for a confident, recently graduated mixed vet with experience in farm and equine work, eager to expand their knowledge and skills in a large animal practice. This is predominantly an ambulatory, first-opinion practice covering dairy, beef, sheep, and smallholder farms, as well as a wide range of equines from competition and breeding clients to companion ponies. There is also a purpose-built clinic for further investigation of farm and equine patients. A full driving license is required, and you will be provided with a practice vehicle for business and personal use if needed. Situated on the edge of a vibrant city at the top of a beautiful estuary near both the North and South coasts, this location offers great shopping, cultural and sporting activities and is well-connected by rail, road and Newquay airport.
Facilities and equipment include
- Stabling for horses and cattle as well as pens for sheep and calves.
- Equine Diagnostics includes sand school for lameness and lunging investigations using Equestrian Q lameness detection system.
- Mobile equipment X3V ultrasound and X-ray for use both in-practice and on the road.
- Specialist visits including regular visits for referral cases, equine osteopathy and complementary care.
You will be working alongside 6 Vets (4 Full Time and 2 Part Time) and 4 office staff including a technician for inpatient care and practice workups. There will be opportunities for regular meet ups throughout the working day to discuss cases and social events after work.
If you are passionate about farm and equine veterinary practice and enjoy working in a collaborative and supportive environment, we would love to hear from you.

However, our client aims to be flexible and will consider a Part-Time role for the right candidate and can re arrange duties and cover so everyone on the team can receive a satisfactory work/life balance.
This role offers a salary up to £55,000 DOE and a range of benefits including
