Our esteemed clients in Oakwood are seeking a veterinary surgeon to join their team at a purpose-built, RCVS-accredited practice. The role involves handling a mix of preventative, medical, and surgical cases within a 1st opinion setting. The ideal candidate will work 20 hours per week over two days, with a 1:4 Saturday morning shift from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm and a 1:8 Sunday day shift. However, flexible working patterns that accommodate the candidate's lifestyle can be arranged.
About the Practice
Located in Oakwood, a suburb of Derby, this practice is supported by a Tier 3 accredited hospital and eight sister practice sites, all accredited by the RCVS under the Practice Standards Scheme. The team includes registered veterinary nurses, veterinary care assistants, and client care advisors.
The practice is well-equipped with lab facilities, digital x-ray, ultrasound, a theatre suite, and two consulting rooms. The main hospital provides out-of-hours care and hospitalisation facilities, including a CT scanner, MRI, advanced ultrasound, endoscopy, digital x-ray, dental radiography, multiple surgical suites, an onsite hydrotherapy and rehabilitation centre, and a multi-disciplinary specialist-led referral service.
Centrally located, the practice offers excellent transport links to the rest of the country, with trains running from Derby to London, Nottingham, Birmingham, and Leeds. East Midlands Airport is just 30 minutes away, making it an ideal location.
Applicant Requirements
Candidates must be RCVS registered and confident in all aspects of 1st opinion work. They should possess a clean and current driving licence, work well in both team and one-on-one settings, and be self-motivated and confident in their skillset.
