Looking for a new Exotics/ Small Animal Vet to join a warm and friendly team based at an RCVS accredited, purpose-built Veterinary Hospital in East Sussex. The team has multiple certificate holders and colleagues with a huge range of clinical interests and expertise, including referral services for orthopaedics, ophthalmology, advanced imaging, and exotics. The hospital runs its own OOH team alongside the day team at the hospital.100% exotics caseload during the week, but you will have to see some dogs and cats at the weekend. During the week you will be rotating through, with the other exotic vets, on inpatients, theatre and consultations. The exotics caseload is varied, with a lot of small mammals and reptiles, birds, and the occasional amphibian and fish. Working closely with the local reptile RSPCA centre, which is a great opportunity to practice with a wide range of reptile species. The exotics team in composed of 2 vets and 2-3 nurses. The role is full time 40 hrs/week with a rota over 4 days with 1 in 5 full weekends and the following Monday off. Looking for an approachable team player to join the over 20 strong Veterinary team. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with routine procedures, and comfortable with the handling and medicine of various species with strong communication skills, able to provide excellent care to the exotics patients. Very well equipped with Digital and dental X-ray, CT scanner, rigid endoscope, ultrasound, large in-house laboratory with our own in-house laboratory technician, separate cat/dog/exotic wards, separate cat/exotics waiting room and consult rooms plus more. The hospital is only a short walk from the town or equally you can enjoy a stroll along the sea front. Situated in a beautiful part of the country with the South Downs National Park is close by and there are great travel links to London only a one-hour train journey away and proximity to Gatwick airport.
