*Practice Hours: Typically 8:00am – 18:30pm with the option to work these hours over 4 days
*Weekend Work: 1:4 Saturday morning rota (until 12:00pm)
* OOH: No out-of-hours requirements
About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Small Animal Veterinarian to join their friendly and professional team for a 1-year fixed term contract in Colchester. The successful candidate will be committed to providing first opinion veterinary care, including consulting, diagnostic imaging, surgery, dentistry, laser therapy, and lab work. With 15-minute consult slots, they ensure that both our clients and their pets receive exceptional attention and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first opinion veterinary services to small animals
- Perform consultations, diagnostic imaging, and surgical procedures
- Carry out dental treatments and laser therapy as required
- Analyze laboratory tests and offer appropriate treatment plans
- Maintain detailed patient records and communicate effectively with clients
- Participate in the Saturday morning rota (1 in 4), contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Engage in continuing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge
**Requirements**:
- Degree in Veterinary Medicine and current license to practice in the UK
- A minimum of 3 years of veterinary experience is preferred but not essential
- Excellence in client communication and a commitment to animal welfare
- Ability to work within a team and independently when required
- Strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- An approachable, compassionate, and positive attitude
