VetPro have a client offering a unique opportunity for a small animal vet/official veterinarian located close to Heathrow, Greater London. The role is predominantly non-clinical, with the majority of work being export and import related. The practice delivers pet travel services to their clients and their pets, high-quality first-opinion services to their patients, as well as those in transit at the airport and those boarding at nearby kennel and cattery facilities. They also work closely with pet travel companies and airlines, as well as providing services to several border control posts at Heathrow Airport. The hours are 9am to 5pm, 4 days a week with alternate weekends. The weekend there is an on call component to the work which involves responding to the arrival of pets that fail entry to the UK coming into Heathrow. This is generally infrequent, but some appointments may be booked over the weekend. The company are flexible to provide a slightly different rota to work one weekend each month and a 5 day week if desired. The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude, drive and ambition to grow and develop the client base and clinical caseload. Must have own car for visits to the border control posts and local boarding kennel and cattery facilities (mileage can be claimed as expenses). Official Veterinarian qualification beneficial, however full support, training and funding will be provided if required.
