Job Description
Position: Export Official Veterinarian
Duties:
Your responsibilities will vary daily based on business needs and include:
- Preparing and Signing Export Health Certificates (EHCs): Review requirements and certificate notes for guidance and current legislation. Gather necessary supporting documents, and inspect the goods, packaging, and labeling integrity.
- Documentation Management: Ensure all documentation is sent within agreed timescales and email certified copies to relevant parties.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain productive working relationships with team members and export customers.
- Export Compliance: Understand the export requirements for various species of pets to different countries. Confidently administer vaccinations and treatments to ensure compliance for successful export. Perform health checks and issue fit-to-travel or other necessary export documents.
- Proactive Learning: Be an eager learner, open to direction, and ready to contribute to our growing business.
- Team Management: Oversee and manage the Certification Support Officer.
- Travel: Travel between export locations and clients as needed.
Working Hours:
- Standard: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Flexibility: Occasional early starts, late finishes, or weekend work may be required.

Salary:
- Range: £40,000 - £50,000 per year, depending on experience.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (required).
- RCVS Membership (required).
- Valid Driving Licence (required) and willingness to travel.
Essential Licences/Certifications:
- OCQ(V) - EX (Exports General).
- OCQ(V) - ES (Essential Skills).
- OCQ(V) - PX (Product Exports).
Beneficial Licences/Certifications:
- OCQ(V) - SX (Small Animal Exports).
- OCQ(V) - AX (Avian Exports).
