Our client’s dynamic Out of Hours team within a 24/7 Hospital is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Night Veterinary Surgeon, working 7 nights on, followed by 14 nights off. You will be supported by experienced OOH RVNs and VCAs, with additional reception and twilight RVN cover to ensure smooth case handovers and quality patient care as well as supported through advanced skills in delivering Oesophageal tube placement, Chest drain (Seldinger) and silicone peritoneal drain placements, Negative pressure wound therapy, Urinary catheterisation (incl. pig-tail), TFAST/AFAST diagnostics and Endoscopy & scoping procedures.
This role includes an OOH caseload for emergency soft tissue surgeries (e.g. caesareans, pyometras, GDVs, enterotomies), acute medicine cases (Addisonian crises, DKA, severe pancreatitis) and Intensive monitoring and interventions.
As a state-of-the-art hospital the facilities include In-house haematology & biochemistry (Procyte, Catalyst, EPOC, Coags), Advanced imaging: Digital X-ray, Doppler ultrasound, visiting CT, Endoscopy suite: flexible & rigid scopes, bronchoscope, video otoscope, Dental X-ray with CR7, Full surgical kit: Gen11 vessel sealing, Valleylab, Ligaclips, Monitoring: ECG, capnography, SpO2, NIBP, temperature, Doppler and On-site transfusion medicine & emergency test kits (Parvo, Lepto, FIV/FeLV, etc.)
Our client is also happy to support and upskill motivated vets looking to thrive in an ECC-focused role.
This is a permanent, part-time role working 8pm – 8am, 7nights on and 14 nights off with flexibility and support to locum elsewhere during your 14 days off if desired.
This role offers a salary up to £60,000 DOE and a range of benefits including
