Export Official Veterinarian - Manchester
My client, a leading provider of export health certificates for food and animal products across Great Britain, is seeking an Official Veterinarian to join their North Team. No prior experience is necessary, as they offer comprehensive training and support. However, candidates with previous export experience who are looking to advance their careers into supervisory or managerial roles are also encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, flexibility, and a willingness to travel as needed. Your veterinary expertise will help ensure public and animal health safety.
Responsibilities include checking products on-site, reviewing supporting evidence for export health certificates (EHCs), reading relevant legislation and guidance notes, stamping and signing EHCs, addressing exporter queries, and maintaining good working relationships with site staff. The role involves a combination of on-site work, travel, and some home-based tasks, with most locations within 1-1.5 hours of travel.
My client offers full-time (40 hours) and part-time/job share positions, typically between 8 am and 6 pm, Monday to Friday. The schedule can vary, with some days being shorter and others longer. There is no abattoir work involved, however occasional travel to other UK locations may be required.
Applicants must be qualified veterinary surgeons willing to take the Improve International OCQ courses ES, EX, and PX. My client supports skilled worker visa applications if needed. A full driving license and own car are essential.
