This Part-Time Night Veterinary Surgeon role in Manchester offers a great opportunity for an experienced vet who thrives in out-of-hours settings and enjoys working independently.
During night shifts, you will be working alongside an experienced night RVN and a twilight PCA, providing excellent team support during busier parts of the shift.
The practice is well-equipped and benefits from close ties with nearby referral units, ensuring that any ongoing cases are looked after once your shift ends.
The successful candidate will be responsible for and required to
- Provide exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures, ensuring each patient is well taken care of, even during emergency appointments.
- Offer clear, reassuring communication to pet owners, particularly in stressful situations such as emergencies.
- This role involves working night shifts, including sole charge responsibilities.
- Engage with, mentor, and develop the night nursing team, while ensuring seamless handovers to the day team.
- Ideally, the candidate should have at least 2 years of in-practice experience, with OOH experience being highly desirable.
- Experience in providing clinical leadership and working as part of a team.
This is a permanent, part-time role working 7 nights on followed by 21 nights off, allowing for an extended break and a flexible, family-friendly work-life balance. The other nights are already covered by experienced vets, so you won’t need to cover more than these 7 nights per month.

- 33 days holiday including bank holidays
- £1500 CPD allowance plus 3 days paid CPD leave
