JR is excited to present an incredible opportunity with our clients Vets for a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join their supportive and welcoming team on a permanent basis. This role offers the chance to work in a truly mixed practice, delivering high-quality care across small animals, large animals, and equine patients in the stunning region of Speyside.
About the Role:
This position is flexible, designed to suit your lifestyle. The full-time rota involves working 40 hours per week over 4/5 days, but part-time hours can be arranged for the right candidate. While the small animal out-of-hours is outsourced, the role does include participation in the large animal OOH rota (currently 1 in 4, with plans to move to 1 in 5). Whether you need to adjust your schedule for school runs, holidays, or simply to find the right work-life balance, flexibility that works for you can be offered.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
** Small Animal Work: The practice handles a wide range of surgeries in-house, including orthopaedics, ensuring a varied and engaging caseload.
** Large Animal Work: A progressive approach with active farmer participation in health planning.
** Equine Work: High first-opinion standard, supported by DR X-ray and video endoscopy.

Located close to the river Spey, this practice is surrounded by natural beauty, bordering the Cairngorm National Park and the Moray Firth coast. The area is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, offering activities like skiing, hill walking, mountain biking, surfing, and paddleboarding. The community is family-friendly, with excellent schools nearby, and the city of Elgin, as well as Aberdeen and Inverness, are just a short drive away.
The practice boasts modern, well-equipped facilities and a loyal client base, many of whom have been with the practice for years. The team is highly collaborative, consisting of 5 full-time equivalent vets, 5 RVNs, 1 student VN, a practice manager, and 5 support staff. They’re looking for someone who values clinical discussions and enjoys working in a supportive environment.
