The PDSA are a special organisation that provides expert veterinary care for people across the UK who otherwise would not be able to afford to treat their pets.
They are looking to recruit a qualified Vet who is up for a challenge and who is able to adapt to the wide variety of cases seen at PDSA. The work is fast-paced and challenging. You will also support the Senior Veterinary Surgeon (SVS), through the leadership of the Veterinary Surgeon team, to deliver efficient, professional and caring Pet services to the local community. You will be responsible for all aspects of team management including recruitment, selection and development, delivery of projects and delegation of tasks as determined by the SVS. Your time will be split between management/ admin tasks and time on the clinical rota.
The role is full time, working 37.5 hours per week with a flexible approach to weekend rotas and any out of hours required, with enhanced pay and stand down time in the week when a weekend is worked.
The team has varied clinical interests which means you will have access to a wide pool of knowledge and experience with which to discuss cases and treatment plans.
The hospital is well-equipped with separate dog and cat kennelling facilities, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases and extensive orthopaedic equipment.
