Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom

Our client in Nottinghamshire is in need of a Vet Surgeon to join them full time, working 38.5 hours over 4 days a week. There is also a one night on-call per week for inpatients only and a 1 in 6 weekend rota.

The team is looking for a Vet who will enjoy working as part of a close-knit team with lots of experience.

There will be an equal share of consulting, surgical and inpatient care shifts.

The role is within an RCVS accredited hospital who pride themselves in doing first opinion work well. It is purpose built and has 8 consulting rooms including 2 dedicated cat rooms with cat only waiting area. They also have a separate consulting room and waiting room for euthanasia consults to ensure clients have privacy and peace in such difficult times.

They are well-equipped with an in-house lab including urine sediment exam (Idexx Sedivue), dipstix analyser, biochemistry and haematology machines, and much more.

They have also recently acquired a beautiful new ultrasound machine (My Lab X7) with a 21"LED screen. As well as a dental radiography (IM3 CR7 system). They have a 16 slice GE system CT scanner.

Out of hours is now covered, so on-call will be for inpatients only and this is exceptionally infrequent.

The practice encourage case continuity, and would consider a Vet of any level as they feel they have a big enough team to support appropriately.

One of the Vets is an advanced practitioner in diagnostic imaging and is keen to share tips and tricks for getting the best out of ultrasound examinations.

The Clinical Director has a certificate in medicine and another in oral and dental surgery and is always keen to help vets improve extraction techniques and dental radiography.

One of the assistants has completed the ANZCVS diploma in feline medicine. They also have a visiting peripatetic specialist orthopaedic surgeon who helps difficult cases.

There are many benefits with this role including:
• Salary: around £57,000 per annum (depending on experience)
• 5 weeks holiday + bank holidays + Birthday Leave
• RCVS & VDS fees paid
• External CPD funded
• Extensive free online CPD program
• Career progression opportunities
• Staff discount schemes
• Life Assurance
• Enhanced sickness pay
• Enhanced equal family leave
• E-car salary sacrifice scheme
• Wellness program including:
o Employee assistance program
o Eyecare voucher scheme
o Free annual Flu jab
o Cycle to work scheme
• Recruitment referral reward scheme
