A truly special role in end-of-life care
At Home Goodbye, we believe every pet deserves a peaceful, dignified goodbye in the comfort of home. We are a small, independent London-based service, providing a personal, compassionate euthanasia experience that puts pets and their families first.
Unlike larger, national providers, we offer a bespoke, highly personal service. Our dedicated bereavement-trained vet nurse is the single point of contact for both vets and clients, ensuring clear communication, strong relationships, and a seamless process.
We are now looking for a Home Euthanasia Veterinary Surgeon to join our team on a contractor basis, offering absolute flexibility while maintaining the highest standards of compassionate care.
The Role
- Provide gentle, at-home euthanasia for pets in a calm and dignified manner.
- Offer support and guidance to grieving pet owners, ensuring they feel heard and cared for.
- Work flexibly, setting your own availability with no minimum shift commitment.
- We are particularly looking for vets with daytime availability on weekdays and weekends.
- Focus entirely on providing care, with no administrative burden—our dedicated veterinary nurse handles bookings, payments, and client coordination.
What We Offer
- Full flexibility—work as much or as little as you choose.
- A small, compassionate, and highly supportive team—ensuring personal connections with both colleagues and clients.
- No rushed appointments, no impersonal call centers—just one-on-one, compassionate care.
- Bereavement-trained vet nurse support—managing all bookings and follow-ups so you can focus on providing care.
- Clear, structured payments—all completed bookings are paid on the 1st of each month, and we generate invoices for you.
Who We’re Looking For
- MRCVS-registered small animal veterinary surgeon.
- Experienced in euthanasia under sedation.
- Compassionate and emotionally intelligent, with strong communication skills.
- Able to work independently in a home setting.
- Ideally has a car for bookings across London (public transport feasible for some cases).
- Must have daytime availability on weekdays and weekends.
If you’re a locum, part-time vet, or semi-retired professional looking for a deeply rewarding role with complete flexibility, we’d love to hear from you.
