We are delighted to share that a new independent practice is opening in Market Drayton in September, this practice is co-owned by two who have worked together for over 20 years. 1 as a practice manger, the other as a vet and they are great friends. 

They have set up this practice with several aims:

They want to make sure that everyone can have a good work/life balance so the shift pattern for a full time vet would be 4 full week days 8.30am – 6.30pm (first appointment 8.45am last appointment 6pm) a share in the inpatient care rota and a Saturday morning every 4th weekend (8.30am – 12.30pm) Out of hours emergency care during evenings and weekends will be covered by a local independent veterinary hospital.

Salary £42,000 – £75,000 (based on a full time equivalent of 40 hours a week) Commensurate with experience. (Certificate holders welcomed, salary to be discussed on an individual basis).

Work place pension – employer contribution 3% of Salary.

Holiday - 24 days per annum plus bank holidays and 1 extra day for birthday leave. (Holidays based on full time weekly equivalent of 40 hours) holiday will increase with length of service

Sickness – 10 days paid sick leave per year, standard SSP applies. 1 extra paid sick day per every 3 years of service. Exceptional circumstances will be considered on an individual basis.

Maternity leave – Enhanced to first 3 months full pay. Standard SMP applies.

Paternity leave – Enhanced to one month full pay.

CPD allowance - £1500 per year or 5 full days.(CPD that exceeds the yearly budget will be considered on an individual basis).

RCVS fees paid.

Membership to Vitality Health, commencing at the end of probation period.

The ideal candidate will have some experience in practice and enjoy building relationships with clients and their pets. CPD and Certificates relevant to the needs of the practice will be supported and encouraged.
