We're proud to be recruiting on behalf of our forward-thinking client, who is seeking an experienced Clinical Director to lead their modern veterinary practice. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role while remaining hands-on in clinical care – making a real difference to pets, clients, and your team.
About the Role:
> Salary: Starting from £75,000 (DOE)
> 42 hours per week
As Clinical Director, you'll balance clinical excellence with people leadership and business performance – driving the practice forward while maintaining the highest standards of patient care. You’ll be given the autonomy to lead the practice while being fully supported by a collaborative leadership team.
You’ll spend 80% of your time clinically, delivering outstanding veterinary care while empowering your team to perform at their best. The remaining time will be dedicated to strategic leadership, helping to grow the practice, foster a positive culture, and deliver commercial success.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading and inspiring the clinical team, including vets, nurses, and support staff
- Delivering gold-standard patient care through evidence-based medicine
- Driving practice performance across clinical, financial, and operational areas
- Developing the nursing and veterinary teams through coaching and mentorship
- Line managing senior team members including the Practice Director and Nursing Director
- Creating a positive, inclusive workplace culture that prioritises staff wellbeing
- Identifying clinical opportunities and innovating patient care
- Representing the practice at community events and within the veterinary industry
What We're Looking For:
✅ Experienced Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS)
✅ Proven experience in a leadership or senior vet role
✅ Passion for developing teams and mentoring others
✅ Strong business acumen with the ability to drive commercial performance
✅ Commitment to evidence-based veterinary medicine
✅ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
✅ A collaborative approach with the ability to inspire and motivate others
✅ Passionate advocate for staff wellbeing and mental health
