We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Head Veterinary Surgeon to join a reputable and growing veterinary practice in Doncaster. As the Head Vet Surgeon, you will play a crucial role in leading a team of skilled professionals, providing high-quality veterinary care to a loyal client base, and overseeing the smooth running of the practice.

You’ll work within a supportive and collaborative environment, where you’ll have the opportunity to further develop your leadership skills and expertise. This role offers a balance of clinical work with team leadership responsibilities and the chance to make a real impact on the growth of the practice.

Location: Doncaster

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: £80,000 (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the veterinary team, ensuring high standards of clinical care and patient welfare.
• Oversee the day-to-day running of the practice, including managing workflows and liaising with support staff.
• Perform consultations, diagnostics, surgeries, and treatments for a variety of cases, with a focus on high-quality care.
• Guide and mentor junior vets, ensuring continuous development and upholding best practices.
• Build strong relationships with clients and ensure excellent customer service at all times.
• Manage and maintain the practice’s clinical standards and equipment.
• Collaborate with the practice manager on business development initiatives and performance goals.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest veterinary practices and ensure continuous improvement in all aspects of the practice.

What We’re Looking For

• A fully qualified Veterinary Surgeon with significant experience in a clinical setting.
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
• Strong diagnostic, surgical, and clinical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both with clients and the team.
• A passion for providing exceptional care and a proactive approach to continuous learning.
• RCVS registration and eligibility to work in the UK.
