About the Role
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you'll play a key role in clinical leadership, ensuring exceptional patient and client care while mentoring and developing the veterinary team.
- Line management & team development – Support, mentor, and guide the vet team
- Maintain high clinical standards – Optimise service uptake and drive clinical quality
- Leadership & collaboration – Work closely with the Clinical Director and support the wider team
- Involvement in RCVS Practice Standards & audits – Ensure compliance and continuous improvement
- Protected leadership time – At least half a day per week for non-clinical duties
This position is primarily clinical, making it a great first step into leadership for an experienced Vet or an exciting opportunity for an existing Lead/Senior Vet looking for a new challenge.

👩⚕️ 8.5 FTE Vets supported by a dedicated nursing & client care team
🎓 Certificate holders in Dermatology, Feline Medicine, Small Animal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Surgery & Diagnostic Imaging
🏥 State-of-the-art facilities – 4 spacious consult rooms, 2 operating theatres, dedicated imaging & dental rooms, plus separate dog, cat & isolation wards
Work-Life Balance & Benefits
- 4-day week, 1 in 7 weekends (Sat 8:30am-4pm, Sun 9am-1pm, on-call for inpatients only)
- Limited OOH – Inpatients only overnight (VetsNow after 9pm)
- Competitive salary up to £67,000 DOE
