First Opinion Veterinary Surgeon – Medicine & Imaging Focus (Wales)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident and experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in medicine and imaging to join a progressive, multidisciplinary team at a modern, RCVS-accredited hospital in Wales.
This role offers the chance to work within a supportive environment that encourages clinical excellence, collaboration, and continuous development. With a well-established 24/7 ECC service on-site, there is a varied and stimulating caseload that supports in-house work-up of complex cases.
The Role
The position is full-time (part-time considered), with an excellent work-life balance provided by a structured rota. There is no on-call requirement, as the hospital has a dedicated night team.
Key details:
Salary up to £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Full-time (part-time options available)
4-day working week
One 9-hour weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) every 5 weeks
One annual bank holiday shift
Average 38.1-hour work week
No on-call duties
Clinical development and certificate study fully supported
This role would suit a certificate holder or an Advanced Practitioner in internal medicine or imaging, but all experienced vets with a strong interest in these areas are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a passion for mentoring, collaborative case discussions, and clinical progression.
