JR is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon or General Practitioner both with ECC, Surgical and Inpatients Care interests to join our clients Small Animal hospital in West Yorkshire.
This is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art, RCVS accredited Small Animal Hospital, designed to provide the highest standard of care to the patients. This facility includes International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) Gold Standard clinic facilities, a dedicated Emergency Critical Care Ward, extended isolation facilities, and an advanced internal laboratory. This clinic also offers the latest technology in diagnostics and surgical interventions, including digital x-ray, advanced ultrasound, endoscopy, and transfusion medicine.
As a key part of their multidisciplinary team, you will provide top-tier veterinary care to a varied caseload and work alongside a highly trained team in a collaborative environment. You will also have excellent communication skills and a passion for providing the highest standard of care.
With support and training, the ECC-hospital team is expected to deliver the following procedures:
Oesophageal tube placements, Seldinger Chest Drain placements, Silicone Abdominal Peritoneal Drains, Pig Tail Urinary Catheters, TFAST & AFAST Ultrasound, Endoscopy (gastroscope, bronchoscope), Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, Urinary Catheterisation, Surgical: Caesareans, pyometras, exploratory laparotomies with enterotomy and enterectomy and Medical: Addisonian crisis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and severe pancreatitis.
This is a permanent, full-time role working 40 hours a week, over 4 days (Mon -Fri) with 1:4 weekends. Shifts Include:
1x Surgical Shift (General Practice): Perform routine and complex surgeries, ensuring high standards of care in both elective and emergency procedures.
1x Consulting Shift (General Practice): 30-minute sick pet consultations, focusing on comprehensive diagnostics and client communication.
2x Late Inpatient Shifts (Ending at 10pm): Focused on inpatient care and ECC. Duties include patient handovers, emergency transfers, ECC procedures/surgery, and managing emergency sick pet consultations.
