Grantham has a distinguished history of being at the cutting edge and South Kesteven District Council reflected this by sponsoring the Business Innovation Award. Veterinary consultancy business Onswitch were presented with their award by Councillor Frances Cartwright.
On Wednesday 10th April, the Onswitch team were delighted to collect the award for '2013 Business Innovation of the Year' amongst stiff competition, in the
Grantham Journal Business Awards. The accolade was awarded in recognition of the impressive statistics delivered in the last year by Bertha, Onswitch's unique training bus:
- 150 days training delivered
- 48 towns in four countries visited
- 18,000 miles covered
- Three innovative courses run (5 steps customer care, Equine practice-specific customer care and clinical consultation skills)
- Over 900 delegates attended for hands-on learning
- Around 6,000 hot drinks made on board!
Alison Lambert BVSc MMRS MRCVS, Managing Director of Onswitch, explains. "Onswitch bought Bertha back in 2011 and spent £250,000 converting this humble double-decker bus into a genuinely state-of-the-art training venue. She travels the country so that practice staff can now access training in their own town, greatly reducing travel costs and time out of the practice, whilst at the same time receiving some of the best customer care training there is. Businesses can book bespoke training on Bertha at their own premises, making the whole package uniquely flexible, and with the cost for a day's training on board Bertha coming in at just £245+VAT per delegate, it also represents great value for money."
