BEVA has launched a collection of resources on equine infectious diseases, to give members quick and easy access to the latest need-to-know disease and biosecurity advice. The resources have been compiled by BEVA’s Equine Infectious Diseases Working Group (EIDG) and were announced during the biosecurity session at BEVA Congress earlier this week.

BEVA set up their infectious disease working group in 2023 to tackle the increasing threat posed by equine infectious diseases and propose strategies for limiting their impact on the UK horse sector.

The new resources all sit under a newly designed infectious disease section on the BEVA website to help vets find the information they need more easily. Whilst focused on diseases endemic and exotic to the UK, there is a wealth of information relevant to equine vets around the world, alongside tools and resources which deliver the necessary information quickly and concisely for those out at the clinical coalface.

The new resources include:

“Equine disease prevention and management are fundamental for responsible equine health, welfare and performance,” said Celia Marr, chair of BEVA’s infectious disease working group. “These resources cover the need-to-know information and are all in one easy reverence location on the newly designed infection control page on the BEVA website.”

The new equine infection disease resources can be found here
