The 2008 competition is now open! - all that you need is a camera, a roll of film and - of course - a love of dogs!
Dog Photographer of the Year 2008 application form
There are four categories to enter:
- Dogs at Work
- Dogs at Play
- Dog Portrait
- Man’s Best Friend
There is also a dedicated category for Under 16s entitled ‘I love dogs because...’
Entry to the competition costs £3.50 per person, with a maximum of four entries per person. Only one photograph may be entered in each category and the same photograph cannot be entered in more than one category. Any profit made will go directly to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust (Registered Charity Number 327802) to help benefit the health and welfare of dogs. Entry into the under 16s category is free of charge.
The overall winning photograph from the 2008 competition and all the other category winners and runners-up will be displayed at Discover Dogs 2008 (8th to 10th November 2008 at Earls Court 2, London). The image will also be reproduced on the front cover of the special Photography Competition edition of the Kennel Club’s flagship publication, the Kennel Gazette, and the winner from each category will be presented with a framed print of their photograph. The winner of the Under16s category, along with their parent(s)/guardian, will also win a day out with professional dog photographer, Marc Henrie, in addition to the framed print.
