Evolving The Joint Care Category With NEW Beaphar Flexifit®
Beaphar has evolved its range of joint care products with the launch of Flexifit®, a new range of joint supplements specially formulated to support the joint health of dogs and cats at all life stages. The range is divided into three easy-to-understand levels, tailored to the pet’s degree of mobility and needs. This affordable range of tasty joint supplements caters for dogs and cats with good mobility to those needing additional joint support.
Level one products, Flexifit® Treats for dogs and Flexifit® Bits for cats are delicious daily joint supplement treats for the maintenance of healthy joints. Containing Glucosamine, Omega 3 and Vitamin C, these treats and bits are formulated to help cats and dogs continue enjoying active lives.
The level two product, Flexifit® Paste, is an advanced daily joint supplement paste for dogs and cats who are starting to show signs of stiffness or reduced mobility. The tasty paste can be mixed with food or given directly and helps soothe stiff joints and support joint structure to maintain joint mobility.
The level three product, Flexifit® Chews, are formulated for dogs with reduced mobility that need optimum support. Flexifit® Chews are an easy to give, one a day chew for all dog sizes and contain the innovative ingredient UC-II® in addition to Glucosamine, Omega 3 and Vitamins C and E. Undenatured Type II Collagen (UC-II®) has a unique mode of action compared to commonly used joint supplements. UC-II® is able to activate the immune system to help soothe, comfort and support joint structure1.
Joint problems in dogs and cats can develop at any age and in any breed. Young, active pets can be prone to joint injuries and developmental diseases, and degenerative joint diseases such as osteoarthritis are common in older pets. Studies have shown that 40 percent of dogs over four years of age exhibit signs of arthritis on x-ray,2 a number that rises to 80 percent in dogs over eight,3 and ninety percent of cats over 12 are affected too.4 This means joint health is a key concern for owners and a key category for retailers.
Additionally, the global pet supplement market is expected to grow by 5.9% between 2023 and 2030, and joint support products have the largest revenue share5 (58%), presenting a prime opportunity for retailers to help many shopper needs. Recent Beaphar research6 though, has found that pet owners can find shopping the category problematic, with a quarter stating that they were concerned about the cost, and 24% saying they found selecting the right product confusing.
“Pet retailers have a great opportunity to advise owners and maximise the category opportunity,” says Claire Edmunds, Beaphar Marketing Manager. “The step-by-step approach of the Flexifit® range means it’s easy for pet owners to understand which product is appropriate for their pet, and its competitive pricing means it’s affordable for owners to support their pets’ joint health and mobility throughout their life.”
A national awareness campaign aimed at helping pet owners learn more about joint health and care will support the launch. An interactive quiz has been developed to help owners identify their pets’ joint care needs, choose the correct Flexifit product, provide feedback and even participate in competitions. An ongoing series of emails and articles on joint health, plus a wealth of social media and online resources will help to educate many pet owners on their furry friends’ needs, explain the solutions the Flexifit® range can offer and let them know where they can buy the products.
Plenty of support is also on offer for Beaphar Flexifit® retailers too. Retailers will have the opportunity to receive regular joint health updates, with valuable articles and resources to share with their customers. A range of online and offline resources are also available, including instore merchandising and point of sale material, ready-made social media and website content, product descriptions, pack shots and supporting images to enhance online product listings. Additionally, the Beaphar Training Academy https://www.beaphar-training.co.uk/ offers all staff accredited training to improve knowledge of joints and joint supplements.
Claire continues, “We’re really excited about how the Beaphar Flexifit® range can help evolve the joint care category with year-round product sales through all lifestages for both cats and dogs, providing joint support for every pet.”
