In a strategic move to expand its manufacturing capabilities, Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging is expanding its operations to meet increased demand and improve overall efficiency. Increasing the production space by 35% at its head office site in Guildford, UK, enables all of Hallmarq’s manufacturing to be completed in-house, reflecting the company’s growth and commitment to delivering high-quality advanced imaging products to a global market.

“Our expanded facilities allow us to meet growing demand while ensuring we maintain the highest standards,” commented Head of Production, Casey Coker. “In streamlining our production and delivery, we can save both time and money for us and our customers.” With this expansion, the company can respond more quickly to customer needs, while continuing to meet international demand.

From their original space occupying just one unit at their current location, 2023 saw a rapid increase in Hallmarq’s manufacturing space. An additional 3,800 sq. feet was acquired at their UK premises in June with their Chicago premises moving into a larger site offering 6,300 sq. feet later that same year. The growth isn’t just about physical space, however. Hallmarq is also growing its manufacturing team to keep up with new contracts. With an increase in orders from the U.S. and other regions, the company has positioned itself as a key player in both small animal and equine advanced imaging. "We’ve already secured contracts with new customers, and the increased capacity will help us meet those orders efficiently," Coker added.

One of the key drivers of this expansion is Hallmarq’s focus on simplifying its manufacturing process without compromising on quality. As well as reflecting their ongoing commitment to sustainability and reducing the company’s carbon footprint, by decreasing the complexity of the supply chain, Hallmarq can reduce the time to manufacture while maintaining their industry leading levels of reliability.

In addition to their Standing Equine MRI machines and Vison CT systems, production of MIRA – the company’s small animal 1.5T MRI machine – has now been bought in-house.  The system, designed specifically for animal anatomy, features a built-in radio-frequency shield that removes the need for a specially adapted room. In addition, the system does not require helium, making it easier to ship, more affordable for the practice to own and maintain, and eliminates the need to source and purchase a finite resource.

As Hallmarq continues to grow, the company remains focused on its long-term vision: maintaining an unwavering commitment to quality while expanding its reach. Whether it’s producing British-built systems, minimising environmental impact or expanding its workforce, Hallmarq is setting the stage for a bright and exciting future in the global imaging market.
