Veterios Madrid - The Importance Of Design For Veterinary Care
Unavets Group introduces its Madrid hospital Veterios, where design and architecture have combined with clinical functionality to create a first-of-its-kind animal hospital.
Brought to life by UK firm Jo Cowen Architects, the clinic has incorporated natural elements to elevate the veterinary experience for pet patients, their owners and workers.
Jo Cowen commented: “Vet clinics can be a highly anxious place for pets and their owners, so we really wanted to focus on natural, calming elements and colours that create a home away from home. This is also incredibly important for clinical staff who often work long hours. Since vets can face harsh lighting when treating animals, lighting design has played a huge role at this clinic to ensure a relaxing environment for the clinical staff but also those who visit for treatments.”
Junko Sheehan, CEO of Unavets, commented: “At Unavets, the design of our hospitals is of fundamental importance. We want to elevate the patient and customer experience in the veterinary industry by making our hospitals not just places of clinical excellence, but also places of healing, comfort, and care for all our patients and pet parents.”
The clinic features:
- Large parking bays to allow for ease when getting pets in and out of vehicles
- Greenery and biodiverse features throughout
- Breakout areas and tuition rooms for staff
- Best in class technology for patient treatment
- Physiotherapy and hydrotherapy area
- 4 fully equipped operating rooms
- A complete laboratory
