NWVS has launched the service to deal with the growing demand for treatment for dermatologic conditions, which will enable it to provide more a more holistic treatment programme for pets.
The new service will collaborate with the hospital’s diagnostic imaging and internal medicine services to address potential underlying causes of more complex cases, as well as with the soft tissue surgery and neurology teams for the diagnosis and management of middle and inner ear diseases.
Eleanor, who is an RCVS-recognised specialist and European diplomate in dermatology, said: “The launch of a dermatology service at NWVS is very exciting and our combination of expertise, experience and technology will enable us to achieve rapid and accurate diagnoses.
“This is essential for selecting the most appropriate therapy for each individual case and ensuring we deliver the best possible care.

She added: “I am keen to start work on relieving patients of the chronic itch they have sometimes suffered from for years, or the ear infections that they regularly have to endure.
“These successes bring comfort and relief to the pet and their owners too and seeing the positive impact we have on that pet-human bond is a privilege.”
