A VETERINARY practice has unveiled plans to open a brand-new branch in Guisborough town centre to meet high demand for quality pet health care in the area.

Clevedale Veterinary Practice, a mixed animal practice with sites in Upleatham, Stokesley and Whitby, is preparing to open a new branch in the heart of Guisborough in early summer.

Local vet Ruth Feeney, who has been with Clevedale Vets for seven years, is looking forward to leading an experienced team at the new site on South Buck Way, Cleveland Gate Retail Park, just off Rectory Lane.

Ruth, who was born and raised in the Guisborough, will also run veterinary acupuncture clinics at the branch, providing a complementary form of pain management for issues such as poor mobility and sore joints.

She said: “Guisborough is rapidly expanding and there is definitely a need for another practice. I am passionate about providing high-quality care for our new clients and their pets from Guisborough community.

“I have high hopes for the new site; it is in the town centre with excellent transport links, making us more accessible to those who can’t travel to our main branch in Upleatham. There is also parking in front of the site and some really good local businesses around it, including a bakery, brewery and a gym.”

The surgery will have four consultation rooms, a preparation area, a dispensary, laboratory, laundry and kennels as well as a break area where the team can unwind and relax.

The veterinary team will offer comprehensive routine procedures, consultations and surgeries for pets at every stage of life, as well as provide advice on feeding, dental care, flea and worm treatment, and weight management.

Plans are in place to make one of the consult rooms a ‘quiet room’ - a calm and less clinical space, where clients can say goodbye to their pets or discuss unexpected news, and then leave through a separate exit to the rear of the property.

Pet owners will benefit from the site’s convenient location in Guisborough town centre where there is parking and good public transport links.

Joe Keatley, one of the practice managers, said: “Over the last 31 years Clevedale Veterinary Practice has established itself among the local communities in Upleatham, Stokesley and Whitby, providing care to thousands of animals every year. We have a huge demand for the quality veterinary care we provide.

“We are very confident that we will be able to develop the branch because of the demand in the area. There’s room for expansion and for the team to grow. This is an exciting time for Clevedale Vets.”

Clevedale Vets is pre-registering clients now for the new practice through its website. Existing clients are welcome to use the new Guisborough site and do not need to re-register.

The practice plans to host an open day for pet owners when the new site is ready to operate. Opening times will be from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6pm, with a Saturday surgery at the main site in Upleatham.
