Northwest Veterinary Specialists Appoints Mary Marrington As Clinical Director
One of the North West’s leading veterinary hospitals has appointed a new clinical director to lead its expert team.
Linnaeus-owned Northwest Veterinary Specialists in Sutton Weaver, Cheshire, has promoted head of oncology and internal medicine Mary Marrington to the key role.
Cambridge graduate Mary, who is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Oncology) and a European and RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Oncology, says she’s delighted to take up the post.
She said: “I’m excited to support our team of outstanding and dedicated clinicians to foster a culture of collaboration, excellence and innovation, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and client experience.
“At Northwest Veterinary Specialists we always aim to enhance the lives of our patients by providing effective, appropriate surgical and medical solutions.
“We also have a wide range of cutting-edge equipment and modern facilities to help us deliver the very best in care to pets across the region.
“It’s my aim to maintain, and hopefully further improve, our reputation for providing excellent care to our patients, clients and referring vets.
“To achieve this I will focus on supporting and developing the whole team here at Northwest to ensure we are the very best that we can be.”
Mary joined the NWVS team as an oncology specialist in 2016 and was responsible for setting up the hospital’s dedicated oncology service.
She was appointed head of oncology in 2018 and head of oncology and internal medicine in 2024. She also introduced the hospital’s oncology residency programme and has trained four residents to date.
Mary is married with two children and at home continues her passion for animals. The family has four horses, two dogs and three barn cats.
